Samuel S. Harris, aged about 60 years, died Tuesday night at 12 o’clock at his home on South Grant avenue after a three week’s illness from a complication of diseases. The remains were taken to New Ross Wednesday where the funeral occurred Thursday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment at Union. Mr. Harris leaves two daughter and three sons to mourn his loss. He was a good old gentleman and his death is one to be regretted. - kbz

“New Ross news” – Stilwell Harris who died at Crawfordsville was brought to this place for interment. The funeral services were held Thursday at the ME Church. Interment at Union Cemetery. - kbz

Samuel S. Harris, aged about 60 years, died last night at twelve o’clock at his home on South Grant Avenue, after a three weeks’ illness from a complication of diseases. The remains were taken to New Ross this afternoon where the funeral occurs tomorrow morning at ten o’clock. Interment will be at Union. Mr. Harris leaves two daughters and three sons to mourn his loss. He was a good old gentleman and his death is one to be regretted.
